WHO Director Arrives Nigeria on 3-day Visit
The World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, has arrived Nigeria on a three-day official visit on the invitation of the federal government.
A statement signed by the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, noted that the purpose of the visit is, “to strengthen the collaboration between the World Health Organization and Nigeria.”
“Interactions during her stay in Nigeria will centre on areas that require technical support from the WHO in strengthening the health system to achieve the health related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the context of revitalization of the Primary Health Care (PHC) in Nigeria and the improvement of the country’s health indicators,” he explained.
Dr Moeti will hold discussions with high ranking government officials and key stakeholders on matters of mutual interest relating to health development in Nigeria and Africa.
