Budget padding: Jibrin stops attacks on Dogara as APC intervenes
A former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has complied with a directive by his party, the All Progressives Congress to stop his media war against the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
Jibrin has since his removal as chair of the committee by Dogara, levelled a string of allegations against the leadership of the House.
Apart from publicising the allegations via his social platforms, Jibrin also submitted a petition accusing Dogara and 12 other members of the House of budget padding to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and related agencies.
The National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress, however, wrote a letter to Jibrin on Thursday, asking him to stop further comments on the matter.
In response to the mail, the lawmaker, who continued his attacks on Dogara via the social media on Thursday has not tweeted for over 21 hours.
His last tweet, around 4pm on Thursday, was more of a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of his party’s directive.
