Kano Appoints First Female Accountant General

Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje,  has approved the appointment of Mrs Aisha Bello Muhammad as the Accountant General of the state.

She is the first woman to be appointed to the position in the 49 years history of the state.

The state information commissioner, Muhammad Garba, in a statement, said Mrs Muhammad’s appointment was with immediate effect.

A graduate of Financial Management and Accounting, she has held several managerial positions in the banking sector including Manager, Kaduna South, First Bank Nigeria Ltd and as Operation Manager, Minna branch,  Head of Credit Risk and Manager,  Area office,  Abuja all with Habib Nigeria Bank Limited.

Mrs Muhammad  was born in 1965 and is married with children. The erstwhile acting Accountant General, Ibrahim Kura, retains his position as Director, Treasury.
