Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, yesterday, reshuffled his cabinet. Yardada Maikano Bichi has been appointed as commissioner for Women Affairs, replacing Zubaida Abubakar, who has been moved to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
According to the governor, the change was important in view of the fact that the former commissioner for Budget and Planning had recently been appointed as accountant-general of the state.
He said the new commissioner was appointed on merit, and urged her to put in her best towards attaining the goals of the administration.
Until her appointment, the new commissioner was the executive secretary of the State Agency for Mass Education.
In another development, Governor Ganduje has signed into law the state’s Land Use Act 2016.
The law will help to generate additional revenue needed to develop the state whose population is the largest in Nigeria.
