NPFL will soon be a good as La Liga – Bassey

The landmark 5-year agreement between the LMC and La Liga will raise the standard of the NPFL well above what it is now and close to what’s obtainable in Europe, member of the NFF Technical Committee and Chairman of Akwa United, Paul Bassey enthused.

The MoU was penned on Tuesday after a period of negotiation between the parties and the occasion which was also acknowledged by the Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung is expected to help reposition club management and organization of the league.

According to Bassey, a 5-year agreement was the best deal they LMC could have negotiated and while the quality of the NPFL was already on an upward trend the relationship with La Liga; one of the best football Leagues in the world, will further raise the level of Nigeria’s top flight football.
