NSCDC to train 1,000 private security guards in Borno
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it would train 1,000 private guards on protective and effective life and property safety in Borno.
Commandant of the corps in the state, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, made this known on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He said that the guards would be drawn from 30 identified private security companies in Maiduguri.
Abdullahi explained that the command had drawn a training curriculum that would inculcate in the trainees, the act of professionalism and efficiency in the protection of life and property.
“This training will include regular capacity-building and set programmes on modern trends of crime prevention and security in private and public institutions.
“The training becomes necessary as it will expose the guards to know and identify very easily, quacks in their midst.
“The private guards will also assist the NSCDC and other security agencies in maintaining law and order, especially now that relative peace has been restored to the state,’’ he said.
