Completesportsnigeria.com can exclusively report that the impending exit of Layvin Kurzawa from Monaco is stalling the departure of Elderson Echiejile from the club.
Kurzawa has been preferred to the Nigerian at left-back, leaving Echiejile looking elsewhere for regular football.
Echiejile is said to be wanted on loan by Lille and has attracted the interest of Valencia and Bundesliga runners-up Wolfsburg.
“Monaco are not prepared to allow both of them (Kurzawa and Echiejile) leave despite concrete interest in them,” a source close to Echiejile told completesportsnigeria.com.
“They’ll prefer to sell Kurzawa who they feel will command a huge fee.
“But Echiejile isn’t short of offers and will move in search of first team football if Kurzawa stays.”
Echiejile who is yet to feature in a competitive game for Monaco this season joined from SC Braga.
Kurzawa has been heavily linked with a summer move to Juventus and Paris Saint Germain.
