Nigeria Remains 66th In FIFA World Rankings
The Super Eagles have maintained their place in the latest FIFA rankings which were announced on Thursday.
The 2013 African champions stay in their lowly 66th spot, the same spot they were in December 2015, but lost one point from 541 to 540.
Nigeria are still outsite the top 10 in Africa, in 14th place on the continent.
Two of the country’s group opponents in the African Nations Championship, which starts on 16 January, are ranked above the Super Eagles.
Tunisia are ranked 40th in the world, fifth in Africa; while Guinea are 49th in the world, eighth in Africa. Tunisia maintained their December ranking, but Guinea moved up one spot.
Nigeria’s third group opponents at CHAN, Niger, are ranked 103rd in the world, 27th in Africa. They dropped three places.
Cote d’Ivoire, who Nigeria face in a pre-CHAN friendly on Monday, are ranked 19th in the world and first in Africa.
