NPFL: Rangers Battle El-Kanemi As Giwa Face Expulsion

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders, Enugu Rangers, will  face a tricky away fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors in their week 18 tie  in Maiduguri on Wednesday, .

The Coal City side ended a run of three games without a win with a convincing 4-1 thrashing of Ikorodu United at the weekend.

Imama Amapakabo’s men have however struggled on the road in recent games with defeats against Rivers United and Sunshine Stars in their last two games.

El-Kanemi Warriors head into the game in positive mood after picking a point in their away fixture against Plateau United last weekend.
Champions Enyimba will confront Giwa FC in Ilorin. The Aba giants are unbeaten in their last five games.

Giwa have failed to honour their last two games at the Ilorin Township Stadium where they were banished to following  the crowd troubles that marred their week 12 home game against Rangers in Jos.

They face expulsion from the league by the League Management Company  if they fail to honour the game.
Also on Wednesday, FC IfeanyiUbah will host MFM FC in Nnewi, while another Lagos-based side, Ikorodu United, will be up against Warri Wolves at the Onikan Stadium.

Former champions Kano Pillars will travel to Lokoja where they will face Niger Tornadoes.
Nasarawa United will host Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium.

At the Akure Township Stadium, Sunshine Stars who were below par in their last fixture against Warri Wolves are home to Wikki Tourists.

The Owena Waves will need to be at their best to stop the league leading scorer, Godwin Obaje (11 goals), who netted a hat-trick against Shooting Stars on Sunday.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars, fresh from their 4-0 annihilation  at the hands of Wikki Tourists will battle Abia Warriors at home.
The visitors have lost only twice in this campaign.

Heartland who held Kano Pillars to a barren draw in Kano on Sunday will keep a date with Plateau United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, while Rivers United and Akwa United will clash in the South South derby at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
