Rohr-Amapakabo Feud: S/Eagles TA Explains Relationship with Nigerian Assistant
Super Eagles Technical Adviser has moved to squash rumors over any sort of flak with his Nigerian assistants – particularly Imama Amapakabo – after talks of a fall out proliferated the media a few days leading up to the final 2017 Afcon qualifying match against Tanzania last weekend.
Though the Enugu Rangers Coach has insisted he left the team’s camp to prepare his side for an NPFL match, with the permission of the German, contrary reports suggests the former Junior International was dropped from the technical crew by the TA.
However, during a visit to the NFF secretariat on Tuesday, Rohr was quoted saying the atmosphere with his Nigeria assistants have been amiable from the get go.
“I have been well –received by my assistant, (Salisu) Yusuf as well as Imama (Amapakabo) and Alloy (Agu), and also by the backroom staff. To be received with so much warmth by the NFF Management means we are all on the same page and we can work together and live as a family.
“I have a very good feeling about this job and the people I have to work with. I am also happy that the first week went very well because the players were able to quickly imbibe our philosophy. We need to have solidarity all round. The Technical Committee members have also been great. Certainly, the National Technical Director also has a role to play. The ambiance is impressive.”
