South Africa Coach Eager To Face Nigeria
South Africa U-23s coach, Owen da Gama, is looking forward to facing Nigeria in the last four at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
Da Gama’s charges booked their place in the semi final of the competition on Friday following a hard fought 1-0 win against Tunisia.
The South Africans who finish second in their group behind hosts, Senegal will face the first place team in the Group B.
Nigeria, Algeria and Egypt are in contention to secure a last four berth in the group with Mali already eliminated.
“This is a tournament with the best teams (U-23 category) in Africa, and Senegal stood out well,” he told reporters after his side’s victory against Tunisia.
“We wait to see our opponents at the next stage and we will be ready to face either Algeria, Egypt or Nigeria.”
A win or draw against Algeria on Saturday will guarantee Nigeria a place in the last four.
